![]() (*)I currently have some people with me on a joint quest, but they don't have any non plot related dialogue and I can't control them in any way. (Another useful tip from the wiki: corpses make a convenient container for extra items) On the plus side it has adjustable difficulty and quicksave :) Also the levelling system UTTERLY CONFOUNDS me, I may eventually have to resort to cheats or possibly never sleeping again. ![]() Have yet to set anyone on fire but I have accidentally pickpocketed, attacked, and killed people, leading to shouting, jailtime, and being turned on by my allies respectively. The update goes through, i restart the game. I come back to it today, and after 1 or 2 hours of playing, the game suddenly closed and i had a very small update. I'm quite enjoying this, it's weird having no backstory or party(*) (unlike the Bioware and Square RPGs I've mostly played before now) but it's really well suited to my "wander around exploring and getting distracted by lots of different shiny objects/quests/people" style of gameplay. I purchased the game yesterday on steam and started playing it without any issue. I am currently stuck on the first screen, I intend to figure out what I'm doing wrong once I'm less obsessed with the others on this list.Įlder Scolls IV: Oblivion: Old-ish RPG. But the SCIENCE aspects did add to the appeal for me.Įcco the Dolphin: classic Sega game I loved as a kid. SpaceChem: Finite state machine puzzles for creating molecules! So much fun! You do not need to know what finite state machines are to enjoy this game (I may be misremembering the specifics myself). Possibly because I'd just set an innocent NPC on fire by mistake. Got through the tutorial level, enjoyed it, but didn't feel motivated to continue. Some of these are still on sale for a while and they're all pretty cheap. The websites are back online and the crashes should no longer be occurring.Thank to the Steam sale, I've been playing a bunch of computer games. With any luck, this should be taken care of soon. UPDATE 3: According to krispykrem, the aforementioned website troubles are likely the cause of the game crashes, probably from difficulties connecting to the webservers from within the game. Restarting Steam doesn't seem to be a guaranteed fix for this, but it certainly does stop it from crashing on every attempted launch. ![]() UPDATE 2: As mentioned by zid below, SpaceChem will crash if it can't properly connect to the Steam client. On the off chance that this isn't a fluke, give that a try if you're having crash-on-launch difficulties. While I doubt that's the cause, I've known simpler things to cause bigger problems. I don't know how or why, and all I've done since posting this was restart Steam. ![]() UPDATE: The game has suddenly started working again. I beseech thee for your help, fellow Reaction Engineers. I can ping these just fine from the command prompt (they return non-127.0.0.1 IP addresses), but will not appear in any browser. I've tried these solutions so far, none of which have worked: I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I have SpaceChem installed through Steam. This has never happened before today, and I'm pretty sure nothing has changed from when I played it last night. The game window for SpaceChem appears, briefly displays the "Zachtronics Industries Presents" intro, and then immediately closes. This was an issue I've never had before, and it's only come up this morning.
